Johann A. Hildebrandt, 76, of Columbia, CT, beloved husband of Inge Deutsch Hildebrandt, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital. Born in Josefin, Poland, he was the son of the late Gustav and Emilie Hildebrandt. He was a former resident of Fitchburg, MA and a resident of Columbia since 1972. Johann was employed at Energy Machinery in Rockland, MA as an air compressor technician. He was a member of the German Liederkranz and Saengerbund. In addition to his wife, Inge, he is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Bernhard Hildebrandt, Thomas Lehnhoff, Manfred and Mary Jo Lehnhoff, all of Maryland; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Peter Simmons, Inge and Jeffrey Simmons, all of Middletown; a brother, Edmund Hildebrandt of Clinton, MA; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Amalia and Victor Ciampaglia, Lydia and Karoly Racz, all of Clinton, MA; six grandchildren, Kristina, Danielle, Jaimie, Seth, and Matthew Simmons, Victoria Chamberlain; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Martin Hildebrandt. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church. Private burial services will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton, MA. Calling hours are Tuesday evening from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.
