Joanne (DeSena) Orlando, 66, of New Britain, passed away Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Hospital of Central CT after a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Louise (Borselle) DeSena. A native of New Britain, she attended local schools before moving to Berlin where she was a graduate of Berlin High. She was employed at "The Surrey", her family's restaurant formerly on the Berlin Turnpike. Upon returning to live in New Britain she was an avid bowler in a league at Laurel Lanes in Plainville. She is survived by a brother Paul "Shooky" DeSena and his wife Pam of Sarasota FL, a niece Kristen DeSena of PA, a nephew Jason DeSena of Winsted, a former sister-in-law Desiree Koziar of Winsted, cousins and caretakers in her later years Patricia & William Johnstone of New Britain, as well as many cousins. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, at 10:00 am at St. Ann's Church, New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours are Wednesday morning from 8:30 am to 9:30 am at the Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain.
