Jimmy Gonzalez, 59, of Phoenix, Arizona died peacefully at his home surrounded by his significant other Hilda Yarbrough on June 18, 2018.  Born in Springfield, MA, he was a long time resident of Bloomfield, CT where he attended High school; before moving to Phoenix four years ago.
  
  
  
  
   He was the son of John Wesley Meggett and Lillie M. Howard; (Meggett).  He leaves his sons, Jimmy James Gonzalez Jr., Quincy Wes Gonzalez, Jaheim Jimmy Gonzalez and Earl Lee Thomas II and grandson, Carter Grey Thomas.  He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Bernardo Gonzalez, Susan Clements, Joyce Bivans, Joe Gonzalez, William, Carlos, Roberto, Edwin, Ada, Nelida, Oscar, Maria, and Daniel; and many nieces and nephews, including Bernardo, Gonzalez III, Shawn Gonzalez, Ebony Mabine, Georgette and Susan Clements, Santina King, Angel Soler and Keira Soler;  and many other nieces and nephews who love him dearly.
  
  
  
  
   His favorite quote was "Nieces to pieces and you stop that right now"  He enjoyed the UCONN Basketball Games and the Football Team Washington Redskins very much!
  
  
  
  
   Jimmy will be missed dearly by his family and friends; his great sense of humor will live on in all of us forever!
  
  
  
  
   Calling hours and funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, from 10 a.m to 12 p.m. at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will follow this time in Fairview Cemetery.
