Jesus "Tuto" Cotto, 79, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday. He was the beloved husband of Felicita (Ortiz) Cotto. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Guadalupe and Elisa Cotto. Tuto has been a New Britain resident for over 50 years. He worked as a Foreman at Stanley Works for many years. Tuto was a diehard New York Yankees fan, an avid Domino player, fun loving and loved Salsa music. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Willy and Nancy Cotto of New Britain, his daughter Alicia Ortiz of Bristol, his grandchildren, William Cotto, Jr., Richard and Daniel Sanchez, Joe, Freddy and Diana Munoz, Richard and Arlene Rivera, Francisco, Billy and Steven Rosado, twenty-five great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. Tuto was predeceased by two daughters, Norma Rosado and Rosa Cotto. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday evening, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
