Jesus J. Esparra

Jesus J. Esparra, 85, of New Britain, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.  He was the widower of Olga (Davila) Esparra.

Born in Puerto Rico, he was a New Britain resident for over 55 years. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.  Jesus was formerly employed as a machine operator before retiring.  He was a member of St. Mary Church.  He loved his family and enjoyed wrestling and O.T.B.

Surviving are two daughters, Maria Esparra of Bristol, Olga Sobota and her husband William of Burlington; a son, Ricardo Esparra of Bristol; two grandchildren, Latoya Esparra and William Sobota; a great-granddaughter, Leah Martinez; his companion, Zita Padron; and two brothers, Porfirio Esparra and his wife Eufemia and Jorge Esparra.  In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Jesus Esparra; by two sisters, Lydia Esparra and Firmia Esparra; and by two brothers, Olimpio Esparra and Trinidad Esparra.

Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
