Jeannette Demers Laberge, 79, of New Britain, widow of Gaston Laberge, died peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 20, 2011 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Cascade Flats, Berlin, NH, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Victoria Morin Demers. She lived most of her life in the Parkville section of Hartford before moving to New Britain in the year 2000. Jeannette was formerly employed at Capital Swimwear and was a member of St. Maurice Church in New Britain. Jeannette, an expert knitter, crafted her family many beautiful articles to cherish and remember her by. Surviving are three daughters, Arleen Simons and her husband Scott of Somers, Jacqueline Boulanger and her husband Raymond of East Hampton, and Jessie Laberge and her partner Ronald Tetreault of New Britain; a brother, Arthur Demers of Gorham, NH and a sister, Anita Bergeron of Berlin, NH; and eight grandchildren, Scott Simons, Max Simons, PFC Roger Boulanger, Christine Boulanger, Michelle Boulanger, Bridgette Tetreault, Chantel Tetreault, and Spencer Tetreault. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Maurice Church. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Calling hours are Friday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
