Jeanne R. Goff-Klatt

Jeanne Ruth OlsonGoff-Klatt, of Cromwell, died peacefully on Monday, Sept. 4, 2006 at Pilgrim Manor in Cromwell. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Oscar W. and Gunhild Matson Olson. Jeanne grew up in Plainville and later lived in Hartford and Canton before moving to Cromwell in 2001. She was formerly employed at J.M. Ney Co. for 15 years and later at CIGNA before retiring. Jeanne was an active and longtime member of Bethany Covenant Church, where she served as a greeter and usher, and where she was a former member of the Sanctuary Choir. After retirement, Jeanne did extensive volunteer work. She was a volunteer at the Salvation Army and at Twice as Nice in Canton and served as a volunteer and former board member of the Canton Visiting Nurses Association. She was a former member and secretary of the Auxillary Fire Department in Canton. Surviving are her beloved husband, Philip Klatt; a brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Jean Olson of Cromwell; a brother in-law and sister-in-law, Russell and Lillian Goff of Cromwell; two step-daughters, Lynn Mauro and her husband Mario of Needham, MA, Phyllis Usher of East Haddam; her nieces and nephews, Susan, Erica, Stephen, Craig, Patty and Gail. She was predeceased by her first husband, Raymond Goff. A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church, Berlin. Burial will be held privately at the West Cemetery in Plainville. Calling hours are Thursday from 4-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.
