Jean M. Sylvia

Jean M. Sylvia, 82, of New Britain, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014. She was the widow of Malcolm "Sonny" Sylvia. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Margaret (Jones) Frederick. She graduated from New Britain High School and was a life-long New Britain resident. She was formerly employed at Woolworths and was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church. Surviving are a daughter, Donna Santos and her husband David of New Britain; a son Richard Sylvia and his wife Mary of Bristol; two grandchildren, Tricia Jankowski and Shannon Richards, and many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home.
