Jean L. Jones

Jean L. Jones, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at the Hospital of Central CT surrounded by her loving family.

Born Sept. 1, 1944 in Evanston, IL, she was the daughter of the late James O. and Regina (Mooney) Black.  Jean was raised in Sunnyvale CA, met the love of her life, Vincent P. Jones in 1962, and moved east where she has resided for the past 52 years.  Jean and Vincent were married for 55 years.  Jean was formerly employed as a beautician, which allowed her to touch the lives of countless people.  She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her three children and their spouses, Vincent and Marybelle Jones, Tina and David Benner and Kenneth and Vanessa Jones.  Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; her sister and brother-in-laws, Harriet and Bob Shrader of Chester, VA; and a host of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  Her infectious laugh will forever be remembered in our hearts.

Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11 AM at St. John the Evangelist Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
