Janusz Strumecki

Janusz Strumecki, 71, husband of Jolanta Strumecki, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10, 2023 at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, surrounded by his family and friends.

Born in Legnica, Poland, Janusz was a New Britain resident for over 20 years before moving to Vero Beach, Fl.  He and his wife spent many years as restauranteurs in both Connecticut and Florida, before retiring in Ft. Pierce, Fl.  John loved his homeland, flying planes, talking on the phone with his many friends, and playing with his granddaughters, Evelyn and Hannah. They were his joy. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.

Surviving are his loving wife, Jolanta (Ostromecki) Strumecki; two daughters, Yvonne Strumecki and Magda Diaz, her husband Nicolas, and their children, Evelyn and Hannah; along with many close friends both in Connecticut and Florida.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church.  Burial will follow the Mass in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
