James Grasso, Jr.

James Grasso, Sr., 85, of Newington, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 30, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Lucy (Mathews) Grasso.

Born in Italy, he was the son of the late William and Ida (Del Mastro) Grasso. James has been a Newington resident for 49 years, coming from Italy in 1950.  He worked for many years at Cigna as a barber before retiring.  He spent retirement golfing with friends and enjoying time with family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 57 years, James is survived by his daughter Mary Ann Gregor of Newington and his son and daughter-in-law James, Jr. and Cheryl Grasso of Tampa, FL, his grandchildren Kelly, Jeffery, Amy Gregor and Matthew and Stephanie Grasso, his sister Lily Carpino of Italy and several nieces and nephews.
