Jacqueline Ruth Blaser

Jacqueline Ruth Alexander Blaser, 85 years old, of Middletown, Connecticut passed away peacefully on May 13, 2014. "Jackie" was born on February 28, 1929 in Brooklyn, NY to Frank and Esther Alexander. She had one sister, Arlene Kyte Krieger. The family moved to Stratford, CT in 1938 where Jackie graduated from Stratford High School. She attended Green Mountain College in Vermont and upon graduation moved to New York City. There she worked at Best & Co. followed by a long career working in the photography department at Life Magazine. She had many wonderful stories of the various photographers and trips during her time there. Those memories lasted a lifetime. While living in New York City she attended the Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church and met her husband, Frederick. They were married in this same church on September 5, 1964. Two years later they had their first child, Leslie Aileen (Blaser) Bajorski of Kensington, CT, followed by a son, Christian Frederick Blaser, of Stratford, CT. Fred and Jackie raised their family in the Co-Op City area of the Bronx, New York. In 1984 the Blaser Family moved to Stratford, CT. After retiring in 1999, they moved to East Berlin, CT to be closer to their daughter Leslie and son-in law Joseph Bajorski. Fred and Jackie attended Bethany Covenant Church where they were both active members. Fred passed away in March of 2012 following a long illness. Jackie moved to Luther Ridge in Middletown, CT and continued to lovingly spoil her grandson Wyatt Bajorski. She also continued to be an active member of the Bethany Covenant Church and enjoyed the fellowship she encountered there. The Blaser Family would like to extend our thanks to the staff at Luther Ridge. We would also like to extend our deepest appreciation to the doctors, nurses and other staff at the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital of Central Connecticut. Their professionalism and compassion assisted us through this difficult time. We would also like to extend our thanks to the members of Bethany Covenant Church who visited and prayed with Jackie during her time in the hospital. We would also like to thank "Nurse Courtney" for her compassion, understanding, and guidance. A memorial service to celebrate Jackie's life will be held on Saturday, May 31st at the Bethany Covenant Church located at 785 Mill Street, East Berlin, CT. The service will start at 11:00 am and will be followed by an interment ceremony in the Bethany Covenant Memorial Garden. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Bethany Covenant Music Fund in Jackie's memory.
