Ivan R. Nadeau, 62, of New Britain, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011 at the Hospital of Central CT, New Britain, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his fiancée Melba Nadeau. Born in Baker-Brook, New Brunswick, Canada, he was the son of the late Theodule and Albina (Saucier) Nadeau. Ivan has been a long time New Britain resident, coming from Canada over 40 years ago. He worked as a Mechanic specializing in transmissions. Ivan had a passion for classic cars and was a member of the Summer Knights Car Club. In addition to his fiancée, he is survived by his daughter Mona Nadeau and her fiancé Michael Smoliga of New Britain, his granddaughter Kayla Smoliga, four brothers, Conrad Nadeau of Hyannis, MA, Aril Nadeau of Bristol, Yves Nadeau of Plymouth, Roy Nadeau of Bristol, four sisters, Berthe Nadeau Soucy of Ontario, Canada, Lindsey Nadeau of Bristol, Bernise Nadeau of Wolcott, Bernadette Nadeau of Edmuston, New Brunswick, Canada, his nephew Christopher Sanchez and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services and burial will be private. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain.
