Israel Colon

Israel “Gallito” Colon, 64, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Mar. 3, 2016 at the Hospital of Central CT. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, he was a New Britain resident for over 40 years and was member of St. Mary Church.

Surviving are his companion, Margarita Badillo; his children, Migdalia Colon, Israel Rivera, Marisol Colon, Adrian Colon, Yvonne Tirado, Luis A. Boria, Hector A. Boria; his mother, Dominga Rivera, six brothers; three sisters; twenty grandchildren and one on the way; 2 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Adriana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 11 AM at St. Mary Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. A calling hour will be held on Monday from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
