Irene J. Ververis

Irene J. Ververis, 92, of Wethersfield, died peacefully on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2006 at Connecticut Hospice. She was the widow of John J. Ververis Born in Plomari, Province of Metelyne, Greece, she was the daughter of the late Demitriois and Amerisoda Bourboulia. Irene was a former Middletown resident before moving to Wethersfield and was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church in New Britain. Surviving are her son, James Ververis and his wife June of Somerset MA; a sister, Sophia of Greece; three grandchildren, John, Nicholas, and Christopher Ververis; and nine great-grandchildren, Christopher, Megan, Alexander, Jack, Amalia , John, Nathaniel, Abigail, and Benjamin. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain and at 10:00 AM at St. George Greek Orthodox Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home with a Trisagion service to be conducted at 7:00 PM by Rev. James Bogiatzis.
