Ines Cordero

Ines Cordero, 84, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Village Green in Bristol.

Born in Puerto Rico, she was the daughter of the late Ernesto Martinez and Felicita Rivera.  Ines was a former resident of the Bronx, NY before moving to New Britain 56 years ago.  She was formerly employed at Stanley Works and was a member of St. Mary’s Church.

Surviving are her husband, Heriberto Cordero; five children, Heriberto Cordero Jr., Damian Cordero, Edwin Cordero, Ivonne Febo and Isabel Cordero; her brothers and sisters, Himilice Avila; Carmen Pereira, Ada C. Alvarado, Angel Alvarado, Martin Alvarado, Elvin Alvarado, Madeline Alvarado, and Jose Alvarado; many grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by two children, Antonio Cordero and Ivette Cordero Medina; a brother, Ernesto Martinez Jr; and a sister, Luz P. Garcia.

Calling hours will take place on Monday from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 10 AM at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
