Howard H. Heslin

Howard H. Heslin, 69, of Southington, died peacefully on Saturday, March 4, 2006 at New Britain General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Arlene Buchholz Heslin. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Howard and Helen Herman Heslin. Howard was a former New Britain resident and a Southington resident since 1968. He was formerly employed as an electrician at IBEW Union Local 90 and was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Howard was a devoted husband, dad and grandpa. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was an avid Nascar Racing fan. Surviving are two sons and a daughter-in-law, Howard A. and Laura Heslin of Plainville, and Neal S. Heslin of Bristol; two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Anne Heslin of Southington and Laura A. and Chris Newton of Plainville; five grandchildren, Nicole, Jennifer, and Tiffany Heslin, Christopher and Jacob Newton; a brother, Timothy Heslin of S. Windsor; two sisters, Anne Egan of New Britain and Kathleen Miele of Palmbay, FL; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carol and Ron Burek of Plantsville; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Eleanor Heslin. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain and at 10:00 AM at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., 306 Industrial Park Rd., Suite 105, Middletown, CT 06457.
