Hildegard Waltraud Koenig

Hildegard Waltraud Koenig, 83, of New Britain, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2013. She was the widow of Heinz Koenig who died Feb. 22, 2008. Born in Germany, she was the daughter of the late Maxx and Marta Volkmann. She was a New Britain resident since 1968. Surviving are her daughter, Jutta Arena of Kensington; and a son, Michael Koenig of Morresville, NC. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Inge Weidemann, and her daughter-in-law, Annemarie Koenig. Hildegard's family would like to thank Walnut Hill Care Center for their loving care over the past five years. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain and at 11:00 AM at St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St., New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the charity of the donor's choice.
