Herman A. Wolf, 88, of New Britain, died unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, joining his late beloved wife Irene Zembko Wolf to share their eternal rewards in Heaven. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late August and Josephine Wolf, and was a life-long New Britain resident. Herman was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II. He was formerly employed as a tool and die maker at Pratt and Whitney Small Tool Division in West Hartford and later employed by the State of Connecticut at UCONN Health Center as a technician. He was a member of St. Johns Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Donau Club, and was a former member of the Varpas Club. He is survived by two sons, Richard Wolf and his wife Beverly of Wallingford, and Herman "Bud" Wolf of Saratoga Springs, NY; four grandchildren, Erik Wolf, Jaclyn Wolf, Kariann Wolf-Morris, Sandra Metivier, and Amber Annino; and two great-grandchildren, Irena and Ella. Herman was predeceased by his two brothers, Walter Wolf and Robert Wolf. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home,, 411 So. Main St., New Britain and at 11:00 AM at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
