Henry Pabon Santana

Henry Pabon Santana (aka Mudo), 60, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2025, at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Jose Pabon and Maria (Santana) Pabon. Henry was a lifelong New Britain resident.

Henry attended the American School for the Deaf and a Cosmetology School in Puerto Rico. He loved doing make-up and hair. He was also a party decorator. Although Henry could not talk or hear, he loved to dance and have a good time. One of his signature looks always consisted of wearing a hat, whether it be a baseball hat or Kango hat, he never left the house without one. He was very conscientious of his hair. He also had a love of leopard print. It was visible throughout his apartment. There wasn't one room without it.

Not having any children of his own, his nieces and nephews were the loves of his life. After his father Jose passed, he became the caregiver for his mother Maria until her passing.

The fact that he was well known by so many in New Britain is an understatement. He touched many lives.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Hospital of Central Connecticut for their patience and care.

Surviving are his brothers and sister, Willie Pabon (Norma), Alba Irizarry (Juan), Jose A. Pabon (Myrna), Victor Pabon (Isabel), Jose H. Pabon (Kim), and Jesus Pabon. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Evelyn Pabon.  He was predeceased by his parents, Jose and Maria, and brother, Ramon Pabon.

As he always would say, "I love you amor, mucho!" Rest in Peace

Calling hours are Wednesday, April 9th from 6-8 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain. The funeral will be Thursday, April 10th at 11 AM at the funeral home, followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery.
