Henrietta "Homa" Kallajian

Henrietta “Homa” Kallajian, 86, of Wethersfield, wife of Richard Kallajian, passed away peacefully on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Born in Hartford, she was the daughter of the late Setrak and Vartouhi (DerTatosian) DerBoghosian.  Henrietta was formerly employed as an Insurance Administrator.  She was an active and devoted member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection in New Britain.  At church, she was a member of the Women’s Guild, served as the superintendent of Sunday School, served as chairperson of the Sandwich Fund, and was honored to be selected as the Parishioner of the Year.  Henrietta valued the holidays, especially Christmas with her family.  Her family included the many friends she called family, from all parts of her life.

Surviving are her husband, Richard Kallajian; two sons, Michael (Sarah) Kallajian and Gregg (Melanie) Kallajian; four grandchildren, Nicholas, Anna, Emily and Brian; her nephews, Stephen DerMargosian and husband Matthew, Philip DerMargosian and husband Giovanni, Brenda Jermakian and husband David, Scott Johnson and wife Kathleen, Robert Kallajian and wife Alisha; her nephew and Godson, Paul Karekinian and his wife Angela; and several grandnieces, grandnephew and great grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sister and brother in law Susan and Steve DerMargosian.

The family would like to thank the ICU and the E1 Wing staff at the  Hospital of Central Connecticut for their care and compassion to her and her family.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2024 at 11 AM at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection in New Britain.  Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.  A calling hour will be on Wednesday from 10 AM to 11 AM at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, 1910 Stanley St., New Britain, CT  06053.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, New Britain, is in charge of arrangements.
