Helena Paulina (Kurpiel) Zadiniec, 84, of New Britain, went home to be with her Saviour, Jesus Christ on January 16, 2015 at the home of her daughter Esther, with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Teodozjusz "Ted" Zadiniec. Born in Stare Tarnowice, Poland, she was a resident of the United States for 55 years. Helena was the daughter of the late Jan and Paulina (Nowacki) Kurpiel. Helena was formerly employed in Poland as a Physician Assistant and Laboratory Technician. In the United States, she was employed as a Nurses Aid, retiring from New Britain General Hospital. She was a member of the First Polish Baptist Church. Helena had a heart for and focused on helping others in need. Surviving are two daughters, Miriam (Zadiniec) Talley and husband David of San Antonio, TX, and Esther (Zadiniec) Brinkmann and husband Peter of Mount Airy, MD; a sister, Stefania (Kurpiel) Kargul and husband Felix of Tarnowskie-Gory, Poland; a brother, Edmund Kocur and wife Irena of Tarnowskie-Gory, Poland; and two grandchildren, Jacqueline Brinkmann and Madeleine Brinkmann. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at 12:30 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation will be held Saturday at the funeral home prior to the funeral service, from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM. There will be a reception and celebration of her life to follow at First Polish Baptist Church, 388 Hart St., New Britain.
