Helen Ursula Korzun Pisko, 86, of Kensington, widow of Joseph W. Pisko, died Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at the Hospital of Central CT at New Britain General. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Pauline Korzun. She was a graduate of New Britain High School, class of 1940 and was a Kensington resident for the past 50 years. During World War II, Helen was employed at Prentice Manufacturing and at Pratt & Whitney. She was a member of St. Paul's Church and the Ladies Guild at church. She formerly served as a family advocate in the Emergency Room at New Britain General Hospital, as a volunteer at St. Paul's School, and as a choir member at St. Paul's Church. Surviving are two sons, Dennis J. Pisko and his wife Carolyn of Kensington, Robert J. Pisko and his fiance Janis O'Neill of West Hartford; a daughter, Nancy Fay and her husband David of Ipswich, MA; a sister, Anne Kostreva of Newington; six grandchildren, Thomas Pisko, Dennis J. Pisko II, Sharon Wolfe, Caroline Fay, Bridget Fay, and Robby Fay; two great-grandchildren, Kristie Lynn and Kyle; several nieces and nephews including Helen's special caregiver, Elizabeth Kostreva; and many caring and devoted friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, followed by at Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 PM at St. Paul's Church, Kensington. Entombment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain. Calling hours are Friday from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Central CT, 205 West Main St., New Britain, CT 06052-1318.
