Helen D. Boyajian

Helen D. Nedwell Boyajian, 76, of Burlington, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006 at home. She was the widow of John Boyajian who died in 1976. Born in Detroit, MI, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Zbikowski Bear. Helen was a long time New Britain resident before moving to Burlington in 1981. She was formerly employed at the McLean Home in Simsbury, the Marriott in Farmington, Shuttle Meadow Country Club in Kensington and the Hotel Burritt in New Britain before retiring. She was a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection and the Women's Guild at church. Helen loved time with her family, traveling, and shopping. She was a generous, helpful and giving person. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Vinnie Assalone of Tampa FL, Rosemarie and William Lucas of Burlington; four sons and daughters-in-law, George and Cathy Boyajian of Farmington, Guy and Karen Boyajian of Burlington, John Boyajian of Farmington, and David and Stacy Boyajian of Burlington; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Lorraine and Henry Grzyb of Unionville, Marylou and John Pardus of Canton, Susan and Ernest Brault of New Britain; three brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Sandra Nedwell of Tolland, Ronald and Dorothy Bear of Florida, Donald and Faye Bear of Plainville; her sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Angel and Sarkis Yirigian of Newington; 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 34 nieces and nephews; her Godchild, Christine Bernabucci; a dear friend, Nancy Nedwell of ME; and many dear friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her mother-in-law, Rose Boyajian. For all the family and those who knew Helen, she will be truly and dearly missed. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain and at 11:00 AM at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
