Helen Teresa Borek, 87, of New Britain, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2012 at home with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Walter E. Borek. Born in New Britain, she was the daughter of the late Teofil and Aleksandra (Kowalczyk) Lemanski. She was a life-long resident and was a graduate of New Britain High School where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Helen was formerly employed at Hugh Graham & Associates, Atlantic Tool, Emhart, and The Stanley Works before retiring. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, and was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Surviving are a son, Richard Borek and his wife Melanie of Baton Rouge, LA; her daughters, Mary Ann Bayram and her husband Steven of New Britain, and Brenda Kawecki of Farmington; a sister, Clare Wrobel of New Britain; six grandchildren, Jennifer Ortego, Richard Borek Jr., Melissa Bayram, Cheryl Ann Starosz, Nicole Kawecki, and Heather Kawecki; seven great-grandchildren, Savannah, Olivia, Ella, Jenna, Mason, Jayden, and Zoe; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a sister, Sophie Blanchard. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at St. Mary Cemetery.
