Helen Bayandourian Badrigian, 89, of New Britain, died Saturday, Sept 21, 2002 at Brittany Farms Health Center. He was the widow of Peter Badrigian. Born in Kharpert, Armenia, she was the daughter of the late Avedis and Maryam Bayandourian. She was a long time New Britain resident and was a member of the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, where she was the oldest member of the Women's Guild. In 1941, she served as a volunteer to raise money for the Armenian Church on Erwin Place, along with Seranoush Azarigian and Vatouhi Yessian, ''The Trio''. She also volunteered at New Britain General Hospital Gift Shop for 25 years. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Harry and Rose Badrigian of New Britain; two grandchildren, Dr. Robert Badrigian and his wife Dr. Cynthia Gentes Badrigian of Woodbridge, and Barbara Ourlian and her husband U.S. Navy Capt. Dennis Ourlian of Suffolk, VA; two great-grandchildren, Zachary Peter Ourlian and William Harry Badrigian; two nieces, Mary Janjanian Kosakowski and her husband Charles, Betty Janjanian Careb and her husband Albert; a nephew, Melkon Janjanian Adams and his wife Mary, and several grandniece and grandnephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Marion Badrigian; a grandson, Peter Badrigian; a sister Oshana Janjanian; and a niece Sadie Janjanian Wilcox. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, with Rev. Fr. Untzag Nalbandian of the Armenian Church of the Holy Ascension in Trumbull, Ct officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday morning from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Armenian Church of the Holy Resurrection, 1910 Stanley St., New Britain, CT 06053.
