Heinz Sakautzky

Heinz Sakautzky, 80, of New Britain, died Monday, July 8, 2002 at home after a short illness. He was the beloved husband of Erna Schlachheit Sakautzky. Born in Germany he came to the United States and settled in New Britain 50 years ago. Heinz was a foreman at General Electric. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. In addition to his wife Heinz is survived by his son Roy Sakautzky of New Britain, his daughter Pearl Groefsema and her husband Wayne of N.C., 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son Harold. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at Erickson- Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St. New Britain. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 295 Arch St. New Britain, CT 06052.
