Heinz Koenig

Heinz Koenig, 79, of New Britain, husband of Hildegard Volkmann Koenig, died Friday, Feb. 22, 2008 at a local convalescent home. Born in Bresslau, Germany, he was the son of the late Karl and Irma Koenig. He was a New Britain resident since 1968 and was formerly employed at Coating Products in New Britain and Circuits Inc. in Berlin. In addition to his wife Hildegard, he is survived by a daughter, Jutta Koenig Arena of Kensington; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Annemarie Koenig of Morresville, NC; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Gerta Kraeft. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5-7 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. The family would like to thank the staff at Andrew House Healthcare for their special care extended to Heinz and his family.
