Hector Cosme

Hector Cosme, 80, of New Britain, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2022 at home.

Born in Comerío, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Juan Cosme and Herminia Resto.  He was formerly employed at the Tunaberry Factory for 35 years and was then employed by the City of Hartford for 10 years before retiring.  He was a member of St. Joachim Parish, St. Mary Church.

Hector loved music, taking long walks, and most of all, being around friends and family.  He will always be remembered for his positive attitude and always being happy.

Hector was predeceased by a daughter, Rosa Gonzalez; three brothers, Osvaldo Cosme, Heriberto Cosme, and Felix Cosme; and by a brother-in-law, Ismael Santos.

Surviving are his children, Maritza Arnold (husband Lumis Arnold), Myriam Cosme (partner Raul Arroyo), Carmen Cosme, and Madeline Cosme (partner Johnny DeValle); a sister, Aida Cosme; a son-in-law, Jose Gonzalez; two sisters-in-law, Carmen Cosme and Rosaura Santana; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday starting at 10 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Mary Church.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
