Hazel Slater, 93, of Plainville,died Friday, June 20, 2003 at Brittany Farms Health Center. Born in East Berlin, she was the daughter of the late Almarion and Emma Jean Bacon. She was formerly employed at Emhart and was a member of the Plainville Seniors. Surviving are a brother, Richard Bacon and his wife Shirley of Berlin; a sister, Kate Genoni of Kensington; a son-in-law, Sebastian Scollo of New Britain; three grandchildren and their spouses, Sherry and Robert Lang of Kensington, and Sally Ann and Mark Woitowitz of Old Lyme, and David and Jennifer Scollo of Newington; five great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her hsuband, Richard Slater, her daughter, Shirley Scollo, and by a grandson, Sebastian Scollo, Jr. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Gabriel's Episcopal Church, East Berlin. Burial will be in Wilcox Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain.
