He returned to Massachusetts to finish high school, earning a BS in Electrical Engineering from UMASS, and enjoyed a fulfilling 37 year career with Northeast Utilities, retiring as Vice President of Engineering and Operations.  He was continuously active and capable, enjoying his family, church, garden, hunting, hiking, playing cards, volunteering, coaching, and scouting.    Upon retiring, he shared 17 years with his wife in Lake Dunmore, VT where they were blessed by constant visits and time spent with family and friends, loving every minute with his grandchildren.  His sharp sense of humor couldn’t hide his heart full of compassion and care for everyone in his life.  He gave to others generously whenever and however he could.  Vital to the end, his final act was hiking with his devoted dog, Mindy and her best friend Coco.
