Harold Francis Berg

Harold Francis Berg, 79, of Waterbury, died on November 7, 2014 after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Paula Berg. Born in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Harold and Irene Berg. Mr. Berg served in the United States Marine Corp. and was stationed in Japan. He retired from his work as a Detective at the New Britain Police Department. He was a member of the VFW in Bristol and enjoyed camping and fishing. He is survived by his son Frank J. Berg; two daughters, Susan B. Amato and her husband Kenneth R. Amato and Colleen D. Berg; his sister, Laura B. Carlin and her husband Joseph Carlin; two grandchildren, Michael J. Deschaine and Lisa A. Deschaine; two great grandchildren, Briana Martinez and Hailey Martinez; a niece, Tara Sikora; and two nephews, Sam Carlin and Justin Carlin. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15 from 1-4 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St, New Britain. A memorial service will be take place at 2:00 PM during calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
