Guy Vartkes Khuzkian

Guy Vartkes Khuzkian, 93, of Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on November 25th, 2017. Guy was born on August 1, 1924 in Marseille, France, the son of the late Sarkis and Marianoush (Kirkorian). After surviving three years in a Nazi Germany forced labor camp, he returned home to Marseille where he married his wife Rose and later moved to the USA in 1959 settling in Hartford, CT with his wife and family. He had worked several jobs until his retirement from Stanadyne in Windsor, CT.

Guy was an active member of St. Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church in New Britain, CT, singing in the choir whenever he could, which meant so much to him. His family would like to express its gratitude to Rev. Fr. Archpriest Aram Stepanian, the Board of Trustees and all the members of the church who every Sunday assisted and offered him a helping hand in times of need.

He is survived by his daughter Monique Giapoutzian (Avedis) of Canada, two sons, Frederic Khuzkian (Nancy) of NC and Serge Khuzkian (Sandra) of FL, by his sister Simone Khuzkian of France, son-in-law Antranig Tatossian of Canada and sister-in-law Violette Thomassian of CT. Guy was predeceased by his wife Rose, his daughter Josianne, sister Angele Manasselian, and brother Garo Khuzkian.  In addition Guy was blessed with many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 12 Noon at St. Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church in New Britain, CT followed by interment in Cedar Hill Cemetery.  Calling hours are Thursday from 10 AM to 11:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain, CT.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: St. Stephen's Armenian Apostolic Church, 167 Tremont St., New Britain, CT 06051.
