Gussie Cusumano Minniti

Gussie Cusumano Minniti, 86, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2015 at Masonic Health Care Center in Wallingford, CT. Born in New York City, she was the daughter of the late Onofrio Cusumano and Vita Cusumano. In her younger years Gussie worked as a seamstress, for many years, and was a very good one at that. In her 60's-70's she worked as an aid on a school bus assisting handicapped children. She did this for 14 years, she loved going to work each day and she really loved those children. But most of all, Gussie lived for her family. She was the youngest of 9 brothers and sisters. She taught us all just how important and special family was. Surviving are her son and daughter in law, Anthony and Susan Minniti of Orange, CT; two grandsons, Anthony Minniti of Long Island, NY and Michael Minniti of Woodbridge, CT; 2 sister-in-laws, Mary Cusumano of New Fairfield, CT and Mary Lewis of Norwalk, CT; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Sonny Minniti, son Joseph Minniti, and 8 brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday August 1st, 12:30 p.m., at Holy Infant Church, 450 Racebrook Road, Orange, CT. with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Masonic Charity Foundation of CT, 74 Cheshire Road, Wallingford, CT 06492. Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
