Greta Wennberg, 100, of Cromwell, and formerly of Farmington, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 3, 2012. She was the widow of Thorsten Wennberg. Born in Sweden, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Ida (Anderson) Johnson. She was a former New Britain resident and a long time Farmington resident before moving to Cromwell in 2010. Greta was formerly employed at Landers, Frary & Clark and at Tre Kronor in Farmington. Prior to her passing, she was the oldest living member of Bethany Covenant Church. She was also a member of VASA. Surviving are two sons, Roy Wennberg and his wife Grace of Kensington, Thorsten Wennberg, Jr. and his wife Marlene of Bristol; a daughter-in-law, Betty Wennberg of Bristol: ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Donald Wennberg, a daughter, Beverly Jane Clapp, a grandson, Bruce Wennberg, and a great-grandson, Richard Cianci, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Bethany Covenant Church. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park. A calling hour will be held on Thursday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.
