Gladys Gainey

Gladys Jean Gainey, 82, of 50 Bassett St., New Britain, CT died peacefully on March 23, 2023 at Hartford Hospital.  She was the daughter of the late Michael Brown and Lois Marshall Brown and was born in Bristol, Connecticut.  Gladys was a long time resident of New Britain.  She was formerly employed at the Farmington Health Center for several years prior to her retirement.  Gladys was an active member of the Redeemer's AME Zion Church of Plainville.

She was predeceased by her sons, Michael Kline, and Melvin Kline, both of New Britain; two sisters, Mrs. Eleanor Rosser of New Britain, Mrs. Reather White of New Jersey; and a brother James Brown of Philadelphia.  Gladys is survived by two granddaughters, Melanie Kline of Georgia and Sabrina Kline of Hartford; a grandson, Andre Kline of Hartford; two great granddaughters, Faithe Kline and Andrea Kline; and three great grandsons, Jon Somersall, Coron Somersall and Elijah Kline. Gladys also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She will be missed dearly.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10 AM at the Redeemer's AME Zion Church, 110 Whiting St., Plainville, Connecticut.  Committal services will follow at Fairview Cemetery on Smalley Street in New Britain.  Family and friends may gather at the Elks Club of New Britain following committal services.  Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
