Giovanni Longo

Giovanni Longo, 75, of Farmington, beloved husband of Rosa Longo, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Francofonte, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Carmelo and Maria (Castrogiovanni) Longo.  Giovanni was a former New Britain and West Hartford resident before moving to Farmington 24 years ago.  He was formerly employed as a tailor at G. Fox & Co., before retiring. Giovanni was a member of the Generale Ameglio Society in New Britain. He enjoyed Formula I Racing and soccer.

Surviving are his wife, Rosa (Bruno) Longo; two children, Maria Longo Haynes and her husband Erik of Bristol, Carmelo Longo and his wife Brianna of Burlington; two brothers, Salvatore Longo of Switzerland and Giuseppe Longo of Italy, five grandchildren, Gavin, Maverik, Alessandra, Gabriel and Giuliana; three step-children, Enzo and his wife Dionna, Frank and his wife Carla, and Adam; four step-grandchildren, Anthony, Christina, Angelina, and Vincenzo; and his dog, Rocky.   In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Maria Longo.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 8, 2024 at 12 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.  Calling hours are Monday morning from 10 AM to 12 PM at the funeral home.
