Gilbert E. Albert

Gilbert E. Albert, 88, of New Britain, passed away on Monday. Jan. 14, 2019 at the Hospital of Central CT in New Britain.

Born in St. Agatha, ME, he was the son of the late Emile and Anastasia (Tardif) Albert.   Gilbert was a former Waterbury resident and a long time New Britain resident.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. Gilbert was a self employed painting contractor of over 40 years before retiring.  He was a member and past president of St. Jean Baptiste Society, the French Businessmen’s Association, and the Franco American War Veterans Association.

Surviving are four sons, Ronald (Gloria) Albert of Waterbury, Russell Albert of Southington, Rikki (Susan) Albert of Colchester, VT, Robert (Linda) Albert of Milford, MA; two daughters, Lisa (Glenn) Harrison of Simpsonville, SC, Lynn (Drew) Labickas of Kensington; three sisters, Theresa Mirmina, Georgette Alfano, and Carlene Dube; eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Luann Albert, and by six brothers and two sisters, Euclid Albert, Roger Albert, Lillian Albert, George Albert, Marie Bendott, Richard Albert, Ovide Albert, and Clifford Albert.
