Giarlene Rose Nieves

Giarlene Rose Nieves of New Britain, CT has joined her daughter the beautiful Mackenzie Rose and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven on June 7, 2020.

Giarlene Rose Nieves was born on April 24th, 1985 in New Britain, CT.  She is survived by her parents Julian and Maribel Nieves of New Britain,CT; her oldest sister Janira C Cruz, her husband Joe and their 2 daughters Keishlannie and Jeydriannie; her oldest brother Luis A. Nieves and his wife Quianna Nieves; her youngest brother Julian G. Nieves, sister in law Quisayra Martinez and their daughter Avianna Sky; and also by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Giarlene Rose graduated from Tunxis Community College with her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education and Development. She worked for HRA in New Britain, CT, for many years as a preschool teacher providing education and great care for many children within the community.

In her free time she liked spending time with family and friends, collecting sneakers.  She was an avid shopper and loved playing with her nieces. She also enjoyed taking pictures everywhere she went.Giarlene was a hard worker, go-getter, a selfless friend, amazing mother, a fun aunt, caring daughter and spectacular sibling. She always brought joy and laughter anywhere she went. Her smile and infectious nature will truly be missed. May she rest in eternal peace in the Lord's arms with her daughter Mackenzie Rose forever.

A celebration of Giarlene Rose's life will be held at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain, CT, on Friday, June 12th, 2020, from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 13th, 2020 at 10am at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home in New Britain, CT, followed by the burial services at Saint Mary's Cemetery in New Britain, CT.
