George J. Rapacky

George J. Rapacky, 80, of New Britain, husband of the late Dale Rapacky, died Saturday, July 22, 2006 at New Britain General Hospital. Born in Plainville, he was the son of the late Mary and Hipolite Rapacky. He was a US Navy Veteran of World War II, having served on the Molino del Rey and on the USS Franklyn. Surviving are a sister, Genevive Meyers of Warrenton, VA; two sisters-in-law, Violet Rapacky of Plainville and Theresa Rapacky of Kensington; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by three brothers, John Rapacky of Salinas CA, Edward Rapacky of Plainville, and Philip Rapacky of Kensington; and by three sisters, Mary Tufano of Clinton, Dorothy Sudusky of Bridgeport, and Lucy Savickas of New Britain. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 9:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Church, Plainville. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
