George B. Fawcett, Sr.

George Broderick Fawcett, 70, of New Britain died unexpectedly at the Hospital of Central CT on Monday, September 22, 2008. Born in Pinewood, S. Carolina on January 22, 1938 and a lifelong resident of New Britain, he was the son of James Fawcett and Jimmie Lee Mcclinton. George was predeceased by his second wife Diane Fawcett and his two beloved sons George Fawcett Jr. and George Fawcett III. George is survived by his first wife Lydia Fawcett and his six daughters, Georgette Fawcett, Georgina Thomas, Darlene Thompson, Jewel Fawcett, Diane Fawcett, and Christina Fawcett. He leaves behind fond memories with his 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends including Nancy Battle. George proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and received a Business Administration Degree while in the Air Force. He owned a trucking business, a furniture store, and a variety store. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home. Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
