George W. Blinn III, 73, of Willimantic and Windsor Locks, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013. Born in Hartford, he was the son of the late George W. and Wilhelmina Blinn Jr. George enjoyed fishing, listening to the radio and polka music. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching sporting events on television, especially baseball. He is survived by his sister, Irene Poppel of Windsor Locks; a niece, Nancy Balfe and her husband Michael of Minnesota; a nephew, Richard Poppel and his wife Deborah of Windsor Locks; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. George was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Rudolph "Rudy" Poppel, and by a grandnephew, Richard Poppel Jr. George's family would like to thank his extended family at the Card Street group home for their special care. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Dec. 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill.
