Genevieve Pare

Genevieve Victor Paré, 79, of New Britain, passed away on December 24, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital.

Born in Edwardsville, PA, Genevieve and Len met in October of 1954, married in August 1961.  Soon four children followed; Thomas, Matthew, Susan and Michelle.

Jen was a stay at home mother.  She took charge from the start, keeping all of us healthy and strong.  She worked hard to make sure the children did well in school, followed rules, and were good citizens with their peers.  It was up to Jen also to sure make sure Len’s work schedule and weekend seminars went off smoothly.

Her many tasks only increased with weddings and grandchildren which followed; Jonathan and David Paré, Jenna Paré, Tanner, Colleen, and Timothy Walsh, and Allyson and Nathaniel Roper.

With each new problem, she would remain controlled, clearheaded and always with a smile and a positive attitude to resolve the conflict.  Her children and grandchildren realize how helpful a few minutes with her would relieve their tensions.

Jen was a wonderful sister, sweetheart, wife, mother, and grandmother.  She was the leader of this family.  Jen left us unexpectedly, yet we were able to gather the family before her passing.

In addition to her husband, Jen is survived by her children; Thomas (Linda) Paré, Matthew (Linda) Paré, Susan (Neil) Walsh, and Michelle (Thomas) Roper; her sister, Constance Mitchel and her husband Bob; her brother, Alan Victor and his wife Diane; her cousin, Dave Victor; her niece Nicole Bay and her husband Christopher and their daughter Abigail; and several other nieces and nephews.  Jen was predeceased by her parents, Alec Victor and Genevieve (Moyer) Victor, by her sister, Frances (Victor) LaRochelle, and by her nephew Seth and her niece Amanda Victor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church, 195. S.
