Gail Turner (Slover) Arcari, 80, of Cromwell, died July 3, 2018 in Cromwell. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Enrico Nicholas Arcari. She was the daughter of the late Prescott Kingsbury Turner Sr. and Priscilla Clark Turner, and the adopted daughter of the late Louise Comer Turner. Mrs. Arcari lived in Newington, Manchester, and Glastonbury before moving to Covenant Village in Cromwell in 2002. She was a member of Pine St. Gospel Chapel in Middletown, an associate member of Wellspring Church in Kensington and loves her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Previously, she was a member of Trinity Covenant Church, Manchester where she served on the Diaconate and was a member of Bethany Covenant Church of Berlin. She graduated from Abbot Academy and Connecticut College and received her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Hartford. Mrs. Arcari published many papers in chronobiology and owned her own business, Body Time Technology, which specialized in preventing jet lag. She belonged to the Society of Mayflower Descendants (Isaac Allerton, Richard Warren, and James Chilton) and Daughters of the American Revolution. Gail was very active helping with the National Day of Prayer and was on the Board of Directors of Manchester Area Conference of Churches (MACC). She helped others join her in making Jesus Christ their best friend. She loved praying with individuals in person or over the phone for their needs.
Surviving are her daughter, Cheryl Slover-Linett and her husband Peter of Santa Fe, NM; two sons, Gregory L. Slover and his wife DeeAnn, of Poquoson, VA, David W. Slover and his significant other Jeri Steward of Worland, WY; her step-children, Gary Arcari and his wife Evelyn of Berlin, Gail Correll and her husband Steven of Newington, Gina Sniadack and her husband Bernie of Plainville; five grandchildren, twins Amelia and Sophie Linett, William, Morgan and Ella Slover; seven step-grandchildren, Lauren Mannes (Aaron), Johanna Snyder (Todd), Nicholas, Alanna and Curtis Arcari, Barry Sniadack and Marianne Lamontagne (Robert); three step-great grandchildren, Harrison Snyder, Avery Lamontagne, and Ben Mannes; her brother, Prescott K. Turner, Jr. (Kathleen) of TN; her sister, Amy Montague of Sharon, MA; three nieces and three nephews; and her former husband, William Slover, M.D. She was predeceased by her sister, Meribeth Jones.
Interment will be Saturday, July 14 at 9 am in East Cemetery, Manchester. Her memorial service will be held Saturday, July 14 at 10:30 am at Covenant Village of Cromwell’s Events Center. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Benevolent Care Fund of Covenant Village of Cromwell, 52 Missionary Rd., Cromwell, CT 06416 or IWMF, International Waldenstrom’s Macroglobulinemia Foundation, 6144 Clark Center Ave., Sarasota, FL 34238. In celebration of Gail’s life, please consider getting together with loved ones to tell them the things we often say only after someone is gone.
