G. Hollis Smith

G. Hollis Smith, 97, of Middletown, a former New Britain resident, died Friday, Dec. 17, 2004 at Middlesex Healthcare Center. He was the husband of the late Clara Buchholz Smith who died in 1994. Born in Cherryfield, ME, he was the son of the late George and Nellie Anderson Smith. He was a long time New Britain resident and was formerly employed as an inspector at Fafnir Bearing Co. Hollis was predeceased by four brothers, Vincent A. Smith, Sylvester J. Smith, Lawrence E. Smith, and Charles J. Smith. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lutheran Manor, 624 Congdon St. West, Middletown, CT 06457.
