Obituary for Frederick James Shaw III Frederick James "Shorty" Shaw III, 38, of Nassau Village, NY, formerly of New Britain, died unexpectedly on Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006. Born in Stafford Springs, he was a resident of Ware, MA and New Britain for over 25 years before moving to Nassau Village in New York. He was formerly employed as a cabinet maker. In spite of his difficulties as a victim of a drunk driving accident and his recovery following many surgeries, he enjoyed life in many ways. He was New England Patriots and UCONN Basketball fan and loved country music. He loved his children and his family dearly and always put everyone's needs in front of his own. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Surviving are his children, Katie Ann Shaw and Frederick J. "L.J." Shaw IV, both of Nassau Village; his mother, Joanne Boulay Shaw and his father, Frederick J. Shaw Jr. and wife, Sandy; two sisters, Tracey Lynn Soriano Shaw and her husband Mitch, Rennee Cusano Shaw and her husband Chris; a brother, Brian Keith Shaw; his nieces Meghan and Lauren, his nephews Dominick, Zach and Ryan; his grandmother, Alice Boulay; his companion, Laurie Seyerlin; many aunts including Juliette and many uncles; and many close cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Lawrence Boulay Sr., Frederick J. Shaw, and Ruby Shaw. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain and at 11:00 AM at South Church in New Britain. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday from 6-8 PM.
