Frank Lonero, 81, of Plainville, passed away unexpectedly on January 29, 2024 after a brief illness of cancer at the Hospital of Central CT with his family by his side.
Frank was born on November 22, 1942 in Solorino Sicily to the late Salvatore and Lucia Lonero residing in Solorino Sicily before settling in Plainville, CT.
Mr. Lonero was employed by Stanley Works, retiring in 2002. He was a parishioner of St. Ann Church as well as active in Generale Amelgio Society Club. He was a lifelong resident of Plainville. He was a devoted husband and father who cherished time spent with family. In addition to raising his children, he maintained his career as a machine operator. A lighthearted man, he had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor. He was a life member of the Generale Amelgio Society. He enjoyed watching soccer and spent most of his time gardening. Frank will be most remembered for making homemade ricotta. In addition to his wife, Paola, he is survived and will be dearly missed by his son, Sal Lonero and his wife Heather Lonero; his daughter, Lucy Weed and her husband Robert Weed; his sisters, Concetta Cianci and Paulo Cianci; and his grandchildren, Joshua Lonero, Jake Weed, Shawn Weed and Isabella Lonero.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 South Main St., New Britain followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. Ann Church, St. Joachim Parish, 101 North St., New Britain. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
