Francisco Santiago

Francisco Santiago, 71, of New Britain, husband of Monserrate Santiago, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 5, 2022.

Born in San German, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Pasqual Santiago and Amelia Martinez.  Francisco was a New Britain resident most of his life and was formerly employed at Black & Decker before retiring.    He was a member of St. Mary Church, St. Joachim Parish.  He was a NY Yankees fan and enjoyed motorcycles.

Surviving are his wife, Monserrate (Escobales) Santiago; his children, Desiree Santiago and Iris Santiago, Marisol Rodriguez, Jose Rodriguez, Janet Ortiz and Aldorfo Rodriguez; a brother, Ramon Santiago; three sisters, Esperanza Santiago, Francisca Santiago and Felicita Lugo; nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by a granddaughter, Brianna Ramos.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 So. Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Mary Church, St. Joachim Parish.  Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.  Calling hours are Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
