Francisco Hernandez

Francisco Hernandez, 83, of New Britain, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Dec. 5, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Barceloneta, Puerto Rico, he was the son of the late Benito Hernandez and Ramona Rodriguez.  Francisco was a longtime resident of Connecticut before retiring to Florida.  He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of the Korean War and was formerly employed at Fafnir Bearing Co. before retiring.  He was a member of La Hermosa Baptist Church.

Surviving are his beloved wife, Maria A. Hernandez; his children, Franklin Hernandez, Dwight R. Hernandez, Holy Rivera, Eileen Hernandez, Mildred Hernandez, Wanda Hernandez, Caroline Hernandez, and Pablo Hernandez; two sisters, Luz Delia Hernandez, and Awilda Quintero; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren with one additional great-grandchild expected soon.  He was predeceased by an infant son, Richard Hernandez.

Funeral services and calling hours will be held on Friday from 6-8 PM and on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30 PM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St. New Britain.  Burial, with military honors, will be in the State Veterans Cemetery, Middletown.
