Francis R. Fazzina, 82, of Kensington, beloved husband of Doris Boutin Fazzina, died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 at home surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Britain, he was the son of the late Carmello and Concetta Latina Fazzina. He was a resident of Kensington for the past 40 years. He was formerly employed at Fafnir Bearing Co. and later at Tilcon before retiring. Francis was a World War II Army Air Force Veteran and was a member of St. Paul's Church. Francis was an avid card player and always enjoyed a game of poker with his friends. In addition to his wife Doris, he is survived by four children, Lou-Ann Worsham and her husband Jay of Kensington, Shirley Santi and her husband Gary of Middletown, Robert Fazzina Sr. of Maine, and Christine Fazzina of Kensington; three sisters, Lee Mele and Lucille Ciaffaglione, both of New Britain, Carmelina "Millie" Carlos of Ohio; six grandchildren, Rebecca Worsham, Ryan Santi, Garrett Santi, Robert Fazzina Jr., Nicole McDonald and Regan McDonald; many nieces, nephews; and his manyg card playing friends. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Erickson-Hansen Funeral Home, 411 S. Main St., New Britain. Entombment will take place in St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours are Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
